Creative Expressions Gallery / Submission #96 1

I like so many Las Vegans have been deeply effected by the senseless act that took place on October 1, 2017. I like so many others sat in disbelief and horror as the facts unfolded. The why has never been understood. How one person could cause so much pain to so many has to this day remained a mystery. We are unable to go back and change the events of that night, all we can do is move forward and try to recover from the staggering loss of that night. We come together to heal one another and to remember the lives that will forever live on in heart and mind. I created this memorial in an attempt to do just that. I want to give to the healing process, my submission of a memorial idea and poem is my attempt at honoring those we lost that night and comforting loved ones left behind. Please know that weather my contribution is accepted or not, it was conceived out of love and respect. My idea is Of a large faux candle at least 10 feet tall enveloped in angel’s wings, in the appearance of cradling. The candle with all name’s of those lost that night and at the base of the candle a poem I wrote. The candle will be light with a simulated fire replaced with a light replicating a flame. There is a heart under the flame, signifying that we all have a light within us that cannot be extinguished. Thank you for this opportunity to be apart of the healing process.
