I have been a citizen of Las Vegas since I was 4 years old. I am now a college student at UNLV (graduate 2023). As an artist I have dedicated myself to speak through my art in matters of importance as well as my current piece on display on the CBC build at UNLV for Black Lives Matters movement. Once the memorial for 1 October was announced I have been inspired to create a piece that may properly pay respects to the victims and show the strength of the Vegas Strong message. The true strength of Vegas is the diversity of the community and the people that call Las Vegas home. By showing their faces as a permanent reminder that we, as a community, will always stand in the face of adversity and come together. I wanted a piece to reflect, remember, and gain strength from as we move forward and never forget.
